SOMERSET COUNTY FAIR

Exhibits, animals & judging, food, crafts, contests, kids' activities. Held the last week in July, the Somerset County Fair shows the best of our agricultural community.
September 2-4, 2016
69th ANNUAL NATIONAL HARD CRAB DERBY & FAIR

Crab races & picking, parade, boat docking, carnival, arts & crafts, seafood, entertainment, fireworks.

September 3-5, 2016
57th ANNUAL SKIPJACK RACES & FESTIVAL

Sat 4-9 pm, Sun 9 am-11:30 pm, Mon Sunrise-6:30 pm. Gospel Concert on Saturday night. Parade, dance, car show, music, food, arts & crafts. Mon Sunrise - Fishing Contest, 8 am Blessing of the fleet, Skipjack race, boat docking.

September 10, 2016
9th ANNUAL SKIPJACK BIKE TOUR

7:30 am-3 pm. Held annually on the second Saturday of September, the Skipjack Bike Tour has 15, 30 & 64 mile rides through some of the most beautiful landscapes on the Eastern Shore. T-Shirts for all riders, rest stops, EMS available, Sag Wagon. Helmets required. Sponsored by the Deal Island - Chance Volunteer Fire Company. Applications can be found at their website.

3rd ANNUAL SKIPJACK RUN

Taste the salty life at the Skipjack Run to benefit local charities. Admire the Chesapeake Bay Skipjack Fleet as you cross Deal Island Bridge - it is the last commercial sail powered fishing fleet in North America and the only cohesive sailing fleet in the western hemisphere. Catch the osprey fishing for their final meals in our marsh creeks before they retire south for the winter. Cross the finish line for awesome refreshments, raffles and unique trophies. Every mile marked, multiple water stops. Held in conjunction with Deal Island Chance Volunteer Fire Company's Skipjack Bike Tour. Race day registration available.
