My family brought me here for the sunset. It was chilly but little breeze. Beautiful setting for mid-December. Saw blue herons and harrier hawks and bald eagles and barnacles (that was quite the divergence, wasn't it!) It was a beautiful spot with my family on my journey of grieving the death of my wife 3 months ago. I am grateful this spot is accessible to the public for whatever reason a person may want to visit.

Nice drive to Deale Island if you want to search out Skipjacks. Nice old area that you can see old bay sites that may not be there soon.

The really cool thing is that during oyster season, at least, several skipjacks of various sizes and vintage are tied off there. The folks who visit clearly have the ecology and environment in mind. Close by a huge pile of oyster shells is a hand-painted sign: " Leave only footprints"
The shoreline is clean and I saw little evidence of trash left behind by visitors l. It's a great spot to be outdoors on the water, where you can launch a boat. But I don't know the protocol or who you need to see before launching, but I suspect it's pretty straightforward.
