Soul Food Sampling

Feb 21, 2026
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The African American Museum of Crisfield (AAMOC) is proud to announce its soft launch in connection with the annual Crisfield Black History Month Soul Food Sampling, to be held Saturday, February 21, from 2:00–5:00 PM at

Crisfield Pride Elks Lodge.

The event will introduce the public to the museum’s mission: to preserve, interpret, and celebrate the rich African American history of Crisfield, Somerset County, the Eastern Shore, and its connection to the broader American story.

The February 21 gathering will feature:

   •   Soul food sampling featuring foods rooted in African American culinary heritage

   •   Artistic depictions of historic African Americans, honoring figures both local and national

   •   Music reflecting the phases of African American history, from spirituals to contemporary expressions

   •   An announcement and pre-order opportunity for a new fundraising cookbook, Food from the Soul

AAMOC is launching initially through community-based events with plans for a permanent museum location in Crisfield.

The museum invites community members, families, elders, educators, artists, and supporters to attend the soft launch, share stories, and help shape the future of this important institution.

Location: Crisfield Pride Elks Lodge, 120 S. 4th Street, Crisfield, MD 21817
