Sugar Water Presents “The Sugar Water Readers”
Join us for a new coed book club and luncheon, The Sugar Water Readers, meeting on the first Tuesday of each month from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM at Sugar Water 1744 restaurant at The Washington Hotel. This club is designed to bring together community members in a warm and welcoming space to connect over a shared love of reading, foster engaging discussions, and, most importantly, have fun.
We are thrilled to have Bette Blitzer Mills as our initial moderator. Bette will provide a short synopsis of each book and guide an open discussion where members can share their thoughts, insights, and opinions—participation is completely optional! We will explore a mix of fiction and nonfiction, with a focus on thought-provoking and enjoyable reads.
Dining & Logistics:
•Members will order off the Sugar Water menu for lunch and any beverages. A book inspired special will also be avaible.
•Each person will be responsible for their own meal and drinks. Purchasing a meal is not a requirement for participation
•We hope to create a casual, relaxed atmosphere where readers can engage as much or as little as they like..
The August meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 5 at 11:45 and we’ll be discussing “The Doctors Blackwell” by Janice Nimura that chronicles the lives of two of the first women in America to receive medical degrees. The book was a finalist for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for biography.
