I’ve always liked a smith island cake but never went crazy over them, then I tried the coconut one last holiday season and it was fantastic. I had to pick up dessert for a housewarming and saw they had a lemon cake available on Goldbelly, so I figured why not.

This cake was a huge hit. Everybody loved it and kept asking where it came from. It’s lemony and tart but not overly sweet. It is exactly what you want in a lemon cake. I’ll be ordering it again.

I ordered a gluten-free cake, chocolate, from gold belly to send to my daughter for her birthday And Thanksgiving. Her house was full and everyone tried the cake. No one could eat it, because it was so dry. It was $99 to ship and pay for the cake.

I highly recommend a visit to this unique piece of Americana. I called ahead and requested a “shipping ready” cake so I could bring it on my road trip and surprise my friends 1,000 miles away, 2-days later. The folks there are super friendly and I really enjoyed meeting them. The cake made it perfectly and blew my friends away!
